Thanksgiving Day
　 Every year, a number of Americans gather together to celebrate Thanksgiving Day that is the most ancient holiday in American.
　 Thanksgiving Day is closely connected with the earlist history of America. In 1620,the settlers sailed to America on the May Flower ship, arriving at a place where they could have freedom of worship. Although they met a lot of difficulties during their first winter, they didn't give up. With the help of American's, they had good harvests in autumn. Therefore, the president of America declared that the fourth Thursday of November is Thanksgiving Day.
　 The pattern of Thanksgiving Day celebration had never changed though the years. During the daytime Americans go to church in order to pray God. Meanwhile, a lot of excellent performances and sport competitions are held in the cities. In the evening, every American family will has the big family dinner that is planned months ahead. There are various delicious foods in the dinner. The best and most attractive among them are roast turkey and pumpkin pie which have been the most traditional and favorite food on Thanksgiving Day throughout the years. After the dinner, Americans will hold some traditional games, for example pumpkin race. They use spoons instead of hands to push the pumpkin towards terminal stop.
　 In my opinion, Thanksgiving Day is a wonderful national holiday on which Americans of all faiths and backgrounds join in to express their thanks for the year's favor and reverently ask for continued blessing.
