EASTER
　Easter commemorates the resurrection of Jesus Christ. It is the important Christian festival and the one celebrated with the greatest joy.
　First, I’d like to tell you the story of Easter. Jude, one of Jesus Christ’s followers, betrayed him. Because of this, Jesus Christ was executed by crucifixion. But after three days, the miracle appealed. God had raised Jesus from the dead. After that, Jesus himself was seen that day, and for days afterwards by many people.
　The date of Easter nearly changes each year, and several other Christian festivals fix their dates by reference to Easter. It falls on the first Sunday following the first ecclesiastical full moon that occurs on or after the day of the vernal equinox. Resulting in that Easter can never occur before March 22 or later than April 25.
　The celebrated actions begin with quadragesima. From Ash Wednesday to Easter is forty days. During these days, we will meditate ourselves. On the Easter, the families go together and eat some festival food. Enjoy a good day.
　Now we come to the presents of Easter. Such as Easter Bunny, Easter Eggs, flowers and so on, all of them mean the new beginning of the lives. Easter Bunny plays a mythical children’s character that brings Easter Eggs. Easter Eggs is the main feature of Easter. Easter Eggs with colorful painting will be hid in the grass in order to let the children find them. And Chocolate eggs filled with chocolate or sweets are usually given as presents at Easter. What’s more, lilies, the symbol of spring, are the best choice of flowers to send to others.
　As the most important Christian festival in western countries, it’s still mythical to the strangers lived in eastern. If we want to know more, we’d better to join in the festival and feel the essence of it.
